440 Cast Iron Exhaust Manifolds

Hello every one. Are all 440 cast manifolds basically the same or were there factory "High Performance" versions?
If so, what was the differences? Larger exit diameters? I'm looking for some cast iron manifolds for a 1967 440 and was wondering what my options might be. Thanks
Hello

The HP manifolds are very $$ & hard to find. Better option some shorty headers

Unless you are planning of operating the engine substantially over 5000 rpm, I am not sure the HP exhaust manifolds buy you much. Many of the high performance offers back then were gimmicks to a large extend, and given how visible the exhaust manifold really is, I would not be shocked if there was not a huge benefit.

On the headers ... unless you are building a 1/4 mile race car that is driven 1/4 mile at a time, I think the headers are a huge source of problems, not to mention noise.

But yes, the HP manifolds dumped on a 2.5 inch downpipe, and they were a bit taller on the sides of the car. When I had my heads off, I was considering the possibility of finding these manifolds, but the fact that I had to replace my whole exhaust system made me change my mind.

I've removed the headers from everything I own. I'm just not a fan of them. Since the exhaust system is on it's last leg, I'm very interested in finding some stock HP manifolds. My car is a daily driver that I just like to rod around town and headers are so problematic on so many levels. Thanks for the info. I guess the search is on.
