440 differences?

I've looked and looked and can't really find anything that identifies the differences, if any, between 440 blocks. Wasn't there just a plain 440 block and also a 440 high performance block? If so, how are the differences identified? And are the differences significant if I'm only after the block and heads?

I'm looking for another 440 block to build up, and just curious if it matters what year or designation the block is. I saw that some of the 70 blocks had lower compression.

TIA

It doesn't matter what year for all intent purposes they are all the same./ Except for later 70's had a cast crank, and the 6 pack had different balancing factors. Early 440's had a steel crank That is what I would look for

Ok, thank you. Going to stroke the motor anyways, so don't really care about the rotating assembly.
