440 from motorhome
 

Ive gotten an offer to buy a 440/727 out of a 77 diplomat motorhome for $500. I didnt have much time to look at it but i got these, any thing i should know? Should i jump on it?

Some say junk some have changed heads and camshaft and have a powerful engine.

You MAY find a steel forged crank, good rods, windage tray, double roller timing chain with low compression.

You MAY find cast bottom end again with low compression.

I would buy it, a 440 and 727 with some work can't go wrong now that there are many types of aftermarket heads available.
