440 plug wires

Are OEM wires long enough to go around the front of the engine, rather than over the top if the intake?
Thanks

What is the purpose ? The rear wires go over the intake. I doubt if they are long enough to route in front. You need a custom set of wires

Just used a set of Belden wires from Napa,, 68 GTX 440 stock exhaust.. They worked perfect. All wires ran under the exhaust then came up in front of the heads to dist.. 90 degree plug boots.. The rear passenger wire came around the back of the head and ran down the valve cover like the factory did it. You can not run it with the others it will burn on the exhaust pipe. Belden is Napas top line wire.. Have used them for many years never had a problem..

Sorry, it's Friday and thoughts go in short bursts for me. This is for a marine application. My exhaust manifolds are large, so I'm wondering if stock wires will be long enough to go over top of engine and exhaust manifold.

What I have now, goes around the front and peels off to each plug. Wires appear fine but have been on over 6 yrs. I'd like to pull them and keep as a spare set and put new on along other tune up parts.

Most stock wire sets are made to go around from the front along the side of the engine in looms that stick out from the manifolds. They should fit with little to no problems. Actually half the time there is one wire that ends up being a bit too long and I end up shortening it.

The rear most wire on both banks, depending on year and application, ran along the valve cover near the intake before swinging around the back.

Thank you. That's the kind of info I was looking for. I had purchased a set from my local parts store and the kid asked me if a 440 was a v8. He found a set but my dilemma came forward. They weren't long enough to go around the front. I'm now wondering if he picked out a 318 set or something out of left field to get rid of me.
