Big Mutha Thumper CAM

I looking @ this cam for my 68 Coronet W/440....putting in a 3.93 gears has the Touqer II intake and has the 2500 stall converter..Has any one had any thoughts with this cam?

The Thumprs go for the "sound" thing, by using a really long duration Exhaust pattern(and early), so you get more Intake port reversion and "lump" for that Hotrod bumpity-bumpity-bump-bump.
They do sacrifice some of the peak, or best "scavenging" effects during overlap to do so, but hey..ya don't get something without giving something up elsewhere with Cams ?
IMO,
Going for the "sound" ain't the best way to choose Camshafts ? but if you are so inclined, I would suggest one of the smaller versions to retain more Cylinder pressure, especially with down around the 9.5 to 10.5:1 Static Compression Ratio Engines.
the 227/241 @ .050 pattern has plenty of lope, and still makes decent power.

I bought the complete kit for my car.. I am looking for sound, street car tubbed with a cage. Can care less on the street for the loss of a few ponies. The heads snappin at the cruse in when I roll in makes up for that. Yes if I was gonna do some track time this cam is not the best choice. The cam really is pretty good on the dyno read outs advertised, I was surprised.

Big Mutha' Thumpr™ : Street/strip, needs 9.5:1 compression, 2800+ stall, intake, gears and headers, very rough idle.
