Carter AFB need info please

I have a 64 383 with a Carter AFB 4758S. I am looking for a new accelerator pump and need help finding the correct one I need. I dont know how to correctly measure the diameter I need. Do I measure the gasket diameter, or the bore it sits in diameter, or do i measure the diameter of the old pump(doesnt have gasket anymore on it). I cant find anywhere online where it lists a accelerator pump for this carb.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Scott

any good parts house should be able to get a carb kit. the carb number is all you will need, DO NOT loose the al tag. that size pump is very common. the 1968 AVS has a bigger pump. warring do NOT take the jets out if you dont need to. if you try to DONT force them, they are easy to damage.

I thought so too until i tried ordering it. I was given the rebuild kit by Advanced Auto which is the edelbrock rebuild kit 1477 which has the rubber skirt for the pump only. The skirt is the wrong diameter also. The only place i can find it is ebay but i do not feel comfortable buying from ebay until i know what kit i need.

If you soak it in fuel ? It may come back to life.. Old pumps were made of leather

I just chatted with O'reilly and they cant look it up with out the car info. I dont know what car the carb came off of so they cant help me determine that the 64-213 is the correct part. The problem I am having is finding the correct accelerator pump for my Carter AFB 4758s.

This is the one I ordered from Summit recently but it is too small in diameter: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/edl-1470/overview/ The part places I have tried so far cant help me.

What kit? I checked out Napa auto and they have nothing listed for a Carter AFB 4758s rebuild kits or accelerator pumps. I really appreciate your guys response. I have been looking everywhere for the answers. I got desperate and just simply ordered the one summit suggested which turned out to be wrong. That was the edl-1470 from summit.
