Chrysler Cirrus Intermittent Problems

Hello all, I'm hoping someone else has had the same experience and will be able to shed some light on what's going on here.

I have a 1996 Chrysler Cirrus LXi (2.5 v6) I've been having these same issues for the past few months, and my mechanic has just about had it with the car, and there's only so much I can do in my own small garage.

PROBLEMS:
1.) Occasional hesitation when accelerating. Mechanic (whom I've known my whole life and trust) said it could be plugs, plug wires, or distributor. Changed them all. No difference.

2.) The car shuts down on me randomly, but will start back up. Mechanic thought it was the fuel pump, or the automatic shut down relay, changed both. No difference.

3.) Check Engine light is always illuminated. Upon scanning, I recovered codes P0112 (intake air temperature circuit low) and P1496 (5V supply low). When I first received these codes, I checked all fuses, all sensors in the circuit as well as checked all the wires for continuity and the ground and also the battery. All of them check out, so I clear the light with my code reader. However, the codes and light both return the moment the key is turned on.

Has ANYONE had any similar experiences to this? I've heard these cars are nuisances and that their PCM can give problems. I'm just not sure where else to turn, perhaps I'll try checking the PCM next.
