Engine building tools.
I have a rough list of what I need. But I'm looking more of a place to get it. I gave a list to my snap on dealer and it's been 4 weeks and supposedly it's all on back order. So i went ahead and cancelled the order. And gonna get it somewhere else. Thanks in advance.

You will pay 10 times what the tools are worth buying them from snap-on
|
I agree with you there. But if something happens to a tool. He is always there to give me another one.
|
So will Napa, craftsman, homedepo etc.. don't get me wrong, I have a fortune in snap on tools and I would recommend them if you're a professional........ but for for the DYI guy, not so much.
Merry Christmas to all. |
I got a tool box replaced after 11 years because of the paint,
updated box! 15 years later I had all the casters replaced with cool a cool set. No charge to me, thanks Snap On! I have had a kr 1000, or at least that's what I paid my $100.00 for to get the big new MAC Box out of my shop. 25 + years ago , the snap on tool box still has a warinte. YES! |
Funny.... I have that same box... KR1000 lol
|
It would be crazy if I actually added up the money I've gave to snap on over the years. I've got a ketn682a0.

Yes sir it is. The only problem I have, i don' t have enough room lol. Before too long I'm gonna have to decide if I want a hutch for it or a side cabinet.

The thing I like about Snap On tool box is, I bought my kr1000 in 87 and it was replaced in 99 under warranty because of the paint coming off, in 2010 and 14 the swivel casters lost there bearings so Snap On stepped up with a heavy set of 4 casters!
All this on a box I bought thirty years ago. ☺ |
That's one reason I love snap on. But their stuff is a bit pricey coming from a guy that works on tractor trailers at a small ma and pa shop.
|
Its pricey for everyone and more and more of it's made in cina.
|
HAhahahahahahaha.... Boy I know all about growing out of them tool boxes !!!!!!! I currently have 4 roll away's.... Sheeeeesh !!
Lot of other good tools out on the market, You just have to research them... :) As you know from working on Diesel Stuff, Those tools add up fast !!! and you need to really make money quick before those tools become obsolete !!! |
I couldn't agree more. Especialy the old Detroit's in general.
|
lol... Ya Good Fun Stuff... 6V92 and 8V92 and 12V92... Good running stuff... But the best time was when they came out with the Silver 92 seires, GM was on to something back then..
Not sure what was going on when the 6.2 came out? Talk about a gutless wonder! Now if your working on all that reefer stuff... Them Thero-Kings have sure come a long way? Ant they? |
Ol yes. I know all about them Detroit's. My boss is a freak about them. We have parts every where in the shop. Don't matter if it's 6v 8v don't matter. He's probably got it haha. Work had a old Ford with a big cam Cummins and I believe it threw a rod. But the guy that bought it wanted a 8v92 put in it. Well let's say 3 months later it left and I was kissing the ground.
I haven't really worked with the thermo kings much but they have made a lot of improvement |
Have you been working on just ON-Road equipment or have you worked out Off-Highway stuff?
Perkins, Dotiz, And what not? All fun Stuff.... :) Where I work... We work on everything from Weed Wackers to 1946 C.I CAT's |
Mainly road stuff. But once in a while we'll get a farm tractor or something like that. I've always wanted to work on heavy equipment tho.
