Holley 2210 flooding?

I have a '73 Sportsman 16ft Fireball class C coach with a 360 and Holley 2210 in it. The motor runs very strong. 73k miles on it. Purrrrrs....Sometimes.
Earlier today my friend and I pulled the carb, doused it in B-12, and threw a rebuild kit on it. Went to drive away, made it 5 blocks to the gas station, and while I was washing my windshield it suddenly backfired a few times and stalled.
After that I pulled the doghouse to check it out and saw gas spilling all over from the front of the carb nearest the radiator. I mean, it was plum full. So I wait half an hour and try again to no avail.
My buddy who was helping threw the towel in on it, but I have to do something about it and cant afford a mechanic.
I'll upload pics first thing in the morning.

Needle and Seat got stuck open..... Or the float level is to high.... Or the Float is sunk and not able to close off the needle and seat.....

Good Luck.... Keep us posted on what you find....

The guy that ran off from the job>>>>> Must be a chevy guy !!!! Sissy.....lol

You wrre right on the money

The pipe fitting that brings fuel into the bowl on the carb had electrical tape on it the previous owner attempted to use as pipe tape bc tge threads are screwed. So the gas was breaking down the tape and little tiny pieces were getting stuck in the float valve. Took it apart again and cleaned her out once more. The thrwads inside where the fliat connects are screwy though and I think soon Im going to have to rethread it.
question number two;
What us causing this incessant backfiring ans stalling? I think maybe the air and fuel screws arent adjusted properly and thats causing the stalling, and maybe the firing order is out of whack and causing the backfiring?
any ideas?

Lean Fuel Mixture
Carb adjustment not correct
Timing not correct
Tune up issues.
Bad vacuum hoses or vacuum leak
Ect…. Ect…. Ect….

At least you know it runs at this point.
