Incomplete 1977 727 (I think).
 
I have purchased a 1968 Ford F150 with a 1977 440/727 installed. The installation is not complete, bare bones. No wiring, no controls, nothing. The engine/trans is mounted.

Are there other controls for the 727 other then the shift rods (I'll have to make) that I will need?

An aftermarket shifter would be the way to go, You could adapt the ford shift linkage. You also need the kick down linkage-from the carb to the trans for throttle pressure

The carb on this is a Holley, which I understand isn't normal. Where on the trans does the kick down attach? I have not been under this yet. Are there coolant lines to run to the radiator? Many quesssstions.

There were some changes over the years in kickdown. Once you read a couple of different versions on how to adjust, you can get an idea of what you might need to adapt if you don't have the exact linkage. All of it mounts on the engine / trans, so as long as there's clearance to the body, you're fine. Should be a stud on the driver side of the bell for the lower pivot to mount

You can also buy aftermarket (Lokar) cable kickdown kits

Your other choice is to go to an all manual shift valve body, which eliminates the kickdown problem. I run one of these in my dart, and like it a lot. I'd rather have a 4/ 5 speed, but my health (arthritis) no longer allows me to row a heavy clutch and 4 speed
