LIGHT 360 STREET BUILD

Hi all, I have a 1975 Chrysler valiant, VJ ute (Australian) and ive just pulled the 360 out and its at the shop awaiting rebuild.. Just wanting some advise on some of the parts.

Keeping stock heads but re seating valves ect so pump gas is fine also new valve springs
.060 oversized flat top pistons and rings (also sonic testing block before boring) also smog motor so should have enough meat
Crower stage 2 'torque beast' cam and lifters 422/444 lift 204/214 duration @ .050 I know this is small but i don't want stalling problems. Could i go bigger with a 727 trans??
extractors with 3 inch exhaust and flowmaster mufflers
highrise manifold edelborck with a 650 cfm 4bbl weber carb
and of-course new timing gear, oil pickup ect ect

Any of this combo seem out of whack??? anything simple to change to get more out of it??

ANY advise is much appreciated!!

.060 over is to much, at least for a US 360 block!

Your building an almost stock 360 so you don't need 3" exhaust.

There are some great pistons out there, But check the compression height of the piston ideally you would want a 0 deck . Stock they are about .060-.070 down in the hole.. Try and go only .030 maybe .040 if you have to.. over sized on the pistons SO check with your machinist before getting parts !!!!

Problem. I have to use 060 pistons.. 030 already in there and went and had a look yesterday as motor is already stripped and has excessive wear and we need to go 060..

I'm also worried the cams not big enough.. I don't need a rocket ship but I do want to do some good skids..

I'd go a little more in the lift but need to know your rear axle ratio and tire diameter.

2.92 diff gears and 295s on the rear

That cam will work like your thinking with that gear. Make sure when you do your piston math end up with proper piston to head clearance for quench. Maybe some clean up of the heads and a pocket port, a different rear gear and a bigger cam later and your ready to go.

Too many over cam an engine and lose driveability.
