Need help with 66 Belvedere II Gas Cap
 

Hi All,

I have 1966 Belevedere II with the original gas cap with emblem. The rubber seal on the gas cap is dry rotted and needs to be replaced. I've looked on several mopar parts sites, but cannot find any replacement seals. I've found several replacement gas caps, but I like the look of the original with the emblem.

Does anyone know where to find a replacement seal or could I simply make one?

Also, would I be better off using a new modern cap and putting the original away for safe keeping. The original caps appear to be very pricey and hard to come by. I would hate for mine to be swiped.
