Need some advice for blow through carb turbo setup

Hello, i have a 68 Plymouth fury with the small block 318 in it and i want to give it a bit more power, a guy i know recommended a blow through carb turbo setup. Now, i dont want a massive power increase, just a bit more juice. He stated that if i only run about 5-10psi i shouldn't have to touch the motor (as in harming it, etc) the motor has originally 9000-ish miles on it and has no issues wrong with it. so is he correct that i don't need to touch anything inside the motor? Or do you recommend forged pistons, rods, etc? Any help is greatly appreciated
