Odd oil leak
First off I'm fresh to the forum so if this is in the wrong section please forgive...
I have a 78 dodge w150 power wagon (she's a heap but she's mine), the motor is a 440 from a police cruiser (77 i believe). Anyway, I had replaced the head gaskets and had valves done to get it running right. I had it running awhile and left it sit about a month...decided to pull it inside for winter and it wouldnt fire. I'd get a quick hit on a few cylinders but that was it, almost like the timing was way way off. Pushed it inside and after sitting again there was a large amount of oil on the floor. It looks like from above the starter possibly? Just curious what it could be. I have no doubt I have some bad seals, the truck sat over a decade without being ran for more than 5 minutes. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated |
Check the back of the intake manifold
and the oil pressure sender. |
And check the valve cover gasket.... If it was cork it may have cracked?
For the No Start... Pull the cap and make sure it is not full of moisture... Also.. put the motor on TDC of the #1... And check to see if the distributor rotor is pointing at the #1 post of the distributor cap at the same time... Welcome to the site.... |
