Running excessively rich and rough idle

I'm completely new to classics only being 19 with no one to teach me I threw myself in and bought a 72 Plymouth satellite. It's running a 70s 440 out of a motorhome all stock I assume and it's got a Edelbrock performer 1406. I just changed the oil, put a new fuel pump in, and some k&n glass fuel filters. Everytime I start the car it will idle but rough and pours gas out the tail pipe (with 0 throttle) I've tried tuning the carb but couldn't get it to clean up. If I let it idle for a while it just dies. Just trying to at least figure something out and hopefully not too expensive just trying to get it back on the road and reliable thanks in advance.

It's a ckoke working, does it open up after a few minutes?

Yep it opens if I can keep it running that long.

It could be the choke is set to tight, you really can't ajust idle with it closed. I would block it open then ajust.
