Timing chain redux

Sorry about that.its a 73' dodge motorhome with a 440-3 engine.i noticed it when I replaced the rear main seal.the ground clearance is good to work under
The engine but the radiator has me wondering if I can replace the chain without
Pulling it.ugh.

I am inclined to say yes you can replace the chain and gears. As long as you have clearance to get the damper pulled off and be able see to line up the marks on the crank and cam. Even if you have to pull the radiator to do it.

Lining up the marks doesn't matter. The cam/crank relationship will remain constant so long as nothing moves while the chain is off.

It can be done, removing 6the radiator just makes it easier..Remove the radiator and you can probably just sit on the ground and have it right in front of you
COMPARE the marks on the new and old gears !!!!!! I don't care how careful you are the gears will move !!!!!

dont for get that when the gear marks are lined up the dist rotor will NOT be pointed to #1. if you read the book it does NOT say anything about where the dist rotor will be pointed. the short story is if the gear dots are lined up you are fine.
