1966 Sport Fury 111 transmission
 

My next door neighbor recently acquired a 1966 Sport Fury 111 that is in very good condition. original 383 engine and transmission. He plans on restoring it and very adept at doing the work. Unfortunatly the transmission has lost reverse. Before he removes the transmission; (he has no computer to go online so thats why I am posting this for him) we are assuming the transmission is a 727 (it is a 3 speed auto.) Does anyone know where I can get him an exploded drawing of this transmission; and who has the best rebuild information book.

If he lost reverse He needs to drop the pan and check the reverse band there is a 1"X3" anchor for the band. The piece could be broken OR the ear on the band could be broken
allowing the anchor to fall into the pan or it may be on top of the valve body
