1970 duster ratchet shifter
Hey all,
When i picked up my 70 duster, it came with an old school ratchet shifter already installed in the vehicle.
The only problem is that it is not connected to the trans, or anything for that matter.
I have a 727 trans in the car
Problem:
I dont have a clue where to start!
How do i know how long the shifter cable should be?
How do i attatch it to the shifter and the trans?
Do i need a special type of shifter cable?
Where can i get one?
Thanks for your help!

i can tell you for sure the cable is $40 at a parts place. i bought mine at O'Rilleys. just went through the B&M book and ordered it. not sure on the price of the brackets and shift levers. i just went through all that with mine. bought the brackets on here. only thing i need now is the peice that connects the cable to the shift lever on the trans and i cant find a listing for it.....ebay time for me..lol

Do you know what kind of shifter it is? BM, Hurst, etc. Either way DD is correct, the cable should be readily available. If you have options, just use the shortest one that allows safe routing.
