440 Automatic Trans Stall Convertor Help

to figure out what type of car my 440 came out of. Currently in a 1969 Dodge Charger RT. I strongly believe motor is original but not certain. Marked on Block Vin Pad E 440 12 16HP2

Also trying to figure out if I need a weighted stall convertor or a non weighted convertor for that motor. 727 Transmission not original.

I would appreciate all help. Thanks Ben

Im pretty sure the E means it was built in 1969. The HP means high performance. Not sure on the 12 or 16 or 2. If the front harmonic balancer is about an inch wide, then it would be a forged crankshaft. Hence internally balanced and no external balancing used. This is the case on most 69-440 engines. The 440 6 pack was the exception and was externally balanced. The later cast iron cranks used a 2 inch wide harmonic balancer and torque converter balance weights. Hope this helps.
