727 hard shift

I have a 1967 Coronet 440 727 auto. My problem is 2nd to 3rd shift very hard even feels like it shakes the car. 1st and 2nd seems to shift fine. The 2nd to 3rd hard will we drive slow, but when we go faster it's better but still there.

Thanks Jeff 69

Sounds like someone has installed a shift improver kit or a shift kit in the trans to firm up the shift. That repair is best left up to a transmission person to look over and take of, If your not familiar with repairing transmissions.

Jeff -

It could be a shift kit was installed or you may need a band/valve body tweak, or something else. The trany could be fine and you could have a suspension problem. Don't ask me how I know ...
