727 is leaking from yoke...HELP

Sooo, what do I do, havnt been driving it and its been leaking for a few days now but today my driveway looked like a stuck pig was layin under my car...checked the fluid and its right on the fill line. Obviously I'm gonna fill it for now but what would be leaking,a seal of some kind? Trannys I know almost nothing about.

Thanks

Tailshaft seal. Drain your tranny. Pull the drive shaft. Pry the old seal out and use a large socket and rubber mallet to install the new seal. I like the ones with the dust boots.

The cooler lines on the drivers side, one front, one back, are under pump pressure and is the first place. Second would be where the linkage goes in, not under pressure but still alot of fluid at that seal. Third, and the place you don't want it, is the converter seal or pump seal inside the bellhousing behind the torque converter. This will show up easily by dripping out the bottom at the inspection cover. The last place they leak is the yoke seal as fluid dosn't flow there too much but it is the easiest to spot and change.

Or last but not least the pan gasket.

No need to drain the trans. Jack it up form the rear Use jack stands. Remove the driveshaft and replace the seal. You can fine cheap PVC pipe connectors to use for installing the seal at local hardware store.. There are many suppliers that don't have the dust boot your choice.. But I would get the OEM seal

I also just noticed that there is no adapter plate, I think is what its called, the metal plate thats between the block and the bellhousing, its half rounded. Right now it looks like if I drive it any road debris would just fly right into my tranny...this cant be good??
