A518 Transmission converter & input shaft question

Hey all
I have been chasing a shudder in my Trans for quite a while now. Its an A518
When I ordered the trans, i asked for a 727 non lock up shaft and a 2800 stall non lock up converter to be installed.

The converter I received was the correct 2800 stall non lock up.
But the trans still had the lock up shaft installed.
So I am using the A518 as a non lock up box with a non lock up converter but with the lock up style shaft. Could this be causing a shudder?
Cheers Maca

The shaft is not the problem. You did not say when the shudder occurs. I would try some rear axle LSD additive after I made sure the bands are correctly adjusted.

Not sure what you are doing but a 727 output shaft will not work in a 518 trans.
If it is the differential Yes LSD additive could help in the differential. I would not put it in the trans. The lockup converter will not fit a non lockup
You would need a complete non lockup trans

Thanks
I realise a lock up converter wont fit in a non lock up trans but what about the other way around?
My a518 is a lock up trans running a non lock up converter. Would a non lock up converter fit on the A518? If that's what I have done maybe that is causing some problems
cheers

Regardless of what they told you The lock up shaft has a different spline count from the Non lockup shaft THEY do that for a reason.. There is a lube Gard red? Black? trans additive that can be used

A few ounces of brake fluid works too.

Is it posible to get a non lock up converter made to suit the A518? My converter is a Daco from memory.
What does the lube guard do? Why do you think I have a shudder happening. Will the lube guard help?
cheers
