The 1958 D100 I am working on has a 318 (need to run numbers but I am taking a guess this powertrain came out of a dart) slightly cobbled in. I will upload some photos later. What I am running into is identifieng the transmission correctly, so that I can get a new floor shifter to put in the vehicle. Stamped on the left of the pan is 4130415 6268 4215. What I have found is this is an A904 maybe, 1968 in year, no idea what 4215 is. When I cross reference the numbers to the Mopar trans list I get a 1979 A904 as the match. A little confused here, and not sure what shifter I will need to purchase. As of right now the cobbled shifter in it slips out of park, doesnt want to go into drive all the time etc and it is really....interestingly...installed, I would like to correct this.
