How deep (inches) is a stock 727 transmission pan

I'm considering changing my stock transmission pan to a deeper pan to allow for better cooling. Currently my transmission temperature runs at 180 ish on the street and just below that on the highway.

My car is slightly lowered so I'm curious to see if I should install an extra 2qt or 4qt transmission pan and still have clearance. The stock pan appears to be about 2 inches in depth. I'd like to know the depth of the 2qt additional transmission pan, and the 4qt additional transmission pan?

Has anyone here made the upgrade to a deeper pan? If so, what size and what temperature change did you notice; i.e. 10, 20 degrees?

I'm really leaning to the additional 4 qt deep transmission pan by Hughes Performance but would hate to "Crush" it on a speed bump.

Thanks.

Try running an external tranny cooler instead of running it through the radiator.

There are two coolers toward the front of radiator and they both appear to connect to one another?? I'll have a peak tomorrow and see if it is a direct run from the tranny to the cooler.

Just stuck a 2 quart bigger pan on my 727.. It hangs down lower than I thought. 4 quart will be to low. The 2 quart tranny pan hangs down as low as my 8 quart oil pan.

i use a separate cooler also the the 518 46re im running has a deep pan for the extra goodies on the valve body and its low as the oil pan i will post a pic as soon as they service is restored i get a little nervous about it when driving over the occasional derbies in the road, say after a storm or such.
i was thinking on making a shield but i have no real signs of damage or wear on the leading edge of the pan and i hit the exhaust on speed bumps and sharp driveway angles not the pan...so far...

I just ordered a cheap 1 quart pan from 440 Source.

Not that I really need it as she runs fine as is, but I wanted a drain plug and it was the cheapest pan upgrade by far.
