We knocked the shifter linkage off the 727 trans on 440 and the shifter got moved around before realizing it was off. Now need to readjust the shifter ,manual vb with reverse pattern. Anyone have a few words of wisdom to help accomplish this?

 

My Precision Performance Products shifter states "Adjust in second gear".

I don't know if this applies to all, but it may help you.

 

Adjusted the shifter , from what turned out to be park.
The barrel that fits into the trans,lever was real tight, backed it off until it fit loosely into the lever ,
tightened the lock nut & wola ....seems the thing is to have the barrel fitted loosely into whatever gear your in.
