NO reverse function dodge powerflite

We have a problem with our dodge coronet 1958.
We Cant drive backwards with the reversegear in.
We can drive forward but not backwards.
Could ut be problem with Reversebelt?

Sounds like the band failed? Just my 2 cents... :)

Could be a broken band or strut, but maybe a bad servo seal or cable out of adjustment slightly. Put some transmission sealer in it, (before you yank it out for a rebuild).
