Front eye leaf spring bushings 1967 VIP???
Hello All,
I am having a heck of a time finding front eye(forward/main) leaf spring bushings for my 1967 Plymouth VIP(Fury III). It's a 383 4bbl car. I've got the rear shackle bushings from rock auto already. Rubber with metal sleeves, or just the rubber bushings for the front eye.. Nowhere to be found. I prefer rubber to polyurethane. Anyone have a lead on these? Thanks, Alex |

I'm sure they are available elsewhere, but if you can't find them, give the guys at Firmfeel.com a shout. They are a Mopar only suspension shop, and while not cheap, they have/make great stuff. BTW - I recently replaced my entire suspension, and the front eye loops on the springs were in a lot worse shape than I thought. Make sure they are still round and not elongated. Archer |
In order to replace the bushing, you need to know it's O.D., I.D. and length. I'm sure it's not a special part and was used for various years and makes of cars. You can search online for suppliers ( Moog, FirmFeel, and others). If it is jacketed or of the "split" type you will need to give this information as well.

Archer, I have searched everywhere, and I suspect that I have already come across the correct bushing numerous times where it simply was not listed or labeled as such... There are hundreds listed from a dozen manufacturers that only list A, B and E Body fitment. frustrating! However I have not checked with firm feel yet, and will do so today. I am also replacing everything in my suspension that is rubber or jointed. With only 14k miles, nothing has ever been replaced on this car.. Been sitting in a garage for 50 years.. Rubber is mostly shot from age and gravity. Hey Rooty, measuring them is a good idea. I'm not with the car presently and attempting to locate and order these ahead of special travel to go work on her next week. Again, FirmFeel seems promising. I'm going to have to remove them to know if they are the "split type"... I have found every single other replacement part needed for the entire suspension except for this one. Patience. |

I made a call to Rare Parts where a very helpful rep found the exact bushing I need. It's rubber with the metal sleeve, and it comes as a kit with the bolt included. The kit($22)is actually cheaper than the single bushing($25) That concludes all parts to completely restore the entire suspension. Thanks again guys for such useful, speedy information☀️ |
