Tie Rod, Left hand vs Right hand thread. . .

Hello all!

Regarding my 1968 Dodge Coronet (B body), 318 car. . .

I tore apart my front end, and got new tie rod ends. . . . I checked the manual, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter, but just to be faithful to the original setup, which Tie rod end is Left hand Thread, and which is Right hand thread? (inner vs outer)

Any input would be appreciated!

Functionally, it really does not matter, but it sure can drive front end people (who know what they're doin') nuts!!

I agree. I just make sure when you turn the adjuster you are spinning them in the same direction turns the tires in the same direction.

Well, here's a little confession of something dumb I did. When I converted over to manual steering box out of an old dart, I took out all the tie rod ends, and the sleeves, and cleaned them up. They looked really nice, and went right in. But on the passenger side, it seems rock Auto gave me two of the same tie rod ends. . . .

The inner was the wrong thread, I made sure by pulling the sleeve off the outer tie rod end, and the superfluous one worked on the outside, so . . .

So I told them. They sent me another, free......

That one was also the wrong thread.

That's when it hit me, I had the Tie rod ends in the wrong spot. I came on here, asked the question, and pretty much had it confirmed. I ordered a new Moog Tie Rod end (From Rock Auto of course, after that snafu) and am a little embarrassed that I didn't write down that little detail, you know, which Tie rod is reverse thread and which is regular.

Well, you live, you learn.

Thanks for the help everybody!
