Brake Light/Reverse Light Issue

I own a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T and im having some electrical issues. My reverse light and brake lights do not work yet my blinkers, side markers, and tail lights all work. I have replaced all the bulbs, fuses, and have gone over the rear wiring. Any suggestions or ideas??

Probably two separate issues.
Check your break switch for the break light and the neutral safety switch for the reverse lights (assuming an automatic tranny).

The brake (it is not a break, even though they are broken) lights go THROUGH the TS switch. Check for power right at the switch. One terminal should be hot at all times. The other of course, should be hot when the pedal is depressed. From there it's only a short wire up to the TS connector. "Wiggle" the hazard switch and see if they work. If you have power "out of" the brake switch, you need a new TS switch

For the backup lamps, the the neutral switch down on the transmission (auto) check the two OUTER pins. They should show continuity when in reverse. With key "on" one of the outer pins of the harness should have power. Stick.......is a two terminal switch on the gearbox.
