front dash mounted AM speaker

Recently my AM radio, which worked perfectly when I bought the car in March (speaker pretty worn out) suddenly stopped working. I removed the speaker and there is almost nothing left of it. I thought even with a blown speaker there would at least be static but nothing at all. I want to replace the speaker to see if that fixes the problem but I have no clue where to look to find one. The bolt holes are 3.5" x 7". Is this correct?? I thought these cars came with 4x10's.

Ok thanks, I'll try that. I just need to find a real cheap basic nothing speaker now I guess.

Ok, I figured it out. The 4x10 speaker actually has the mounting holes at the measurements I collected so it really is the 4x10 like I thought. Thanks for everyone's input. However, I hooked both leads to a speaker and it didn't work. :/ I suppose a new radio is in the works. I can't believe all of a sudden it died!
