Let's talk about customizing headlamps
So I have a 74 Dart. The previous owner installed new Sylvania Halogen headlamps circa. 2001-2003. They work great and look great. Plug in and out to an ease that a child could manage, but here's where my issue is at. I work for a new age LED company and am currently building a nice and attractive LED ring to fit within the headlamps to wire to the fog/dims. I can easily make the converter and do the wiring, but my concern is with waterproofing and opening the lamp/drilling without damaging it. I could test the heat syncing so don't remind me about LED weaknesses in heat.
Basically what I am asking is has anyone else ever cracked open one of these beasts and resealed them effectively? Is it worth the effort to make? I have some pretty interesting concepts and if this works I would be pretty willing to design further products for friends, forum members, etc. Shapes and colors are endless; light output and overheating are proportionate.
Please P.M. me with ideas and please respond to the Thread* with tips/advice on this project.

Found a way to modify enclosed headlamps. Involves minor drilling and silicone for routing the wires. Not concerned with resealing the lenses together, simple double sided auto grade adhesive would do the trick.
I will keep everyone posted.

Many people take the yellow fluted BOSCHE lenses from older MBZ cars and modify them to current 4" light buckets. The cut off and reseal is easy with a dremel. Reseal is easy with a tube of polyurethane flashing... rather than silicon.
As to LED... good idea... as to more light rings... OH GOD NO!!!!!!!
