Bumble Bee Stripe Etiquette

Hey guys. Been having lots of fun browsing through the forum lately while working on my 1968 Dodge Dart. I have a question about Bumble Bee Stripe Etiquette....

I have a 4 door 68 dart. We ripped out the /6 and we are almost complete with the 318. (Some pics and background in the link below.)

So...with that said, can somebody give me some info on the bumble bee stripe? I've heard it came from the factory on cars with only hemi's. I've heard all kinds of different stories, but I've seen it on all kinds of mopars from 318 darts to 340 darts and so on. I am thinking about adding it to my car after paint, and wanted to get your thoughts. Appreciate all the info.

I don't understand why some get there nose out of joint on this topic. I do think a representation of the original model should be correct. Personally I like the Super Bee stripe that some will put their own logo in the bee spot. Have a vinyl sign shop make up something you like for your unique car,

My Dart has one on it and nobody gives me any crap about it. It would have come on hemi Darts and GTS models. Check Phoenix Graphics and see if they make them.
