New Grant Wood Steering Wheel

Was finally able to pull my Coronet out from it's long winter nap and install my steering wheel I got for Christmas. I think I like it but wonder what black would have looked like. I did put a few coats of Boiled Linseed Oil on it to darken and protect it a little. The install was simple but make sure the contact plate is right side up. I played with it for an hour before finding out I had it on upside down lol. It should have been a 20 minute job.

Looks good,,,But I wonder about the linseed oil on the steering wheel...On a hot day it may surface making it hard to steer/grip the wheel...Bill

Thanks, I use the linseed oil on many of my surplus rifles that I shoot in hot weather and they seem to stay dry. I hope I don't have any problem.

Very nice! I agree, oil should be ok. I've used on several stocks myself and never a slippery issue.
