not a body man

iam not a body or paint man. the last time i used a real paint gun was 1976. on a prototype trenching machine. good thing the paint didnt have to be good. to my big Q. i have seen where guys will take a 4 door car and mod it in to a 2 door. course we all know why. the Q is, is this done a lot? and is it as hard as it looks?

'Far's I'm concerned one 'ell of a lot of work, and no two ways around it, once you are done, the VIN still says you have a moredoor. This means it will never be worth "in cash" what it should be, and there's LOTS of people who won't want it for that reason.

If you were young, had unlimited ambition, skill and money, and wanted something to race, or to drive, I'd say "go for it." I would never buy such a thing someone else has done.

EDIT. Interestin' All I did was to type the word ---for money--- that starts in c, ends in h, and has as in between, LOL

Moe, you have got to be the funniest dude I know.. You know nothing at all about Paint or body work but yet you ask if it is as hard as it looks to do to make a 4 door into a 2 door. My big question is why would you ask a question like that if you have no clue about body or paint work and probably even less ambition to even start such a project.. And if you did start the project the car would very quickly become scrap:laugh: Just having fun with you Moe.. But like it has been said it would cost lots of cashcashcashcash.. You have to much time on your hands and it seems like you are bored and looking for something to do. I just went back to work part time as a manager of a New Autozone Store because my wife said my home projects were costing way to much and were killing her.. Not that they were done poorly but just cost to much.. Like the new deck and that wasn't good enough so I added a gazebo to it to the tune of 10K by the time I was done.. She drew the line when the next project was going to be a split rail fence down the property line that is 600+ feet long.. So off to work I went and it is the best thing I did.. I get to get out and see people and make money to boot. And the best part is I don't need the money and with that in mind there is no stress or fear of loosing the job so it makes it just fun.. And get to share some of the knowledge that 45 years of cranking wrenches with some others that need help...Bill
