shoulder harness help
Hello everyone,
I am currently working on a 64 cuda and need suggestions on how to put in a shoulder harness system because stock is only lap belts. New bucket seats with self contained shoulder straps are an option but not favorable. Racing seats with a 5 point were considered but not comfortable to go any distance. If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know.

No seat that I know of is strong enough for should harness ANCHORS. Some replacement seats have routing holes to run the harness through the back of the seats, but you need to anchor them elsewhere
Based on photos and some research on how the OPtional 67 harness was done, which was NOT anchored in the roofline, but rather somewhere in the rear, I do have high-back aftermarket seats with the should holes, and anchored 1 strap ahead of the rear wheel tub, and ran the strap out between the side of the seat and the car.
We had a discussion about this over at FABO, and this is what I found:

No that IS the way the 67 (A bodies at least) were done. There were no mounts in the upper roof rail
I can't find the webpage right now, but I found a guy who got an A from his relatives with factory optional harnesses. It was not a vert, and it was done the same way.
This is an excerpt from an original pamphlet. The same part no. is shown for "all models"

Unlike for example, the radios, which are shown model by model:
