Looking for Dads Old Car....

Evening all: I am not sure if this forum can help me at all or not but I am trying all options. I am looking to find my fathers old roadrunner he had as his first car. It was a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner and he would have sold it between 1979-1981 timeframe. The VIN# RM21H9G183926. He lived in West Central Iowa area when he owned the car and I am assuming sold it locally at that time. Would love to find this car and if it is still out there I would be interested in buying it to restore with him and his grandsons (my boys)....does anyone have any ideas how I could track this down? I have tried the insurance company route, I have tried the state of Iowa DOT and DMV and I am waiting on a buddy in the law enforcement field to see if he can run the VIN and find any info on it. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Yes, it seems that they can share that information with every dang extended warranty outfit that ask for it. Then they call you day and night!

25 years ago everyone new how much you paid for a car and where you bought it, all they had to do was ask the DOT.
