i would think a holley 600 would be too much for a 273
is the motor worked?

well, for a carb for the 273, i'd say a 500
dont go too big

what trans and rear is in the car now?

X2 don't go bigger than a 500. It will run horrible with too much carb. This is one of those times when bigger is not better.
