best way to lower a dart
whats the best way to lower a 1974 dodge dart may be 1 inch in the front give or take
|
Your Dart has a torsion bar front end. It is as easy as turning a screw. Find in the middle of your lower control arm a 3/4 inch bolt turn it counterclockwise and the front end comes right down. That easy. For the rear you can either replace the springs or use blocks, or change the rear shackles to a shorter set. Very easy as well.

well that easy thanks ,bad news I just had my alignment done should i have it redone when I find the spot I like its just I had new tires put on and they killed the bank.
|
before you do it - spray the bolt and the block it threads in with some wd40 and let it site for a few hours. make sure when you are turning it the bolts they are relatively east to move - the first time i adjusted mine, after being in the same spot for 35 years, the bolt seized, snapped and the car dropped almost taking my arm off...

Quick tip.....For this kind of stuff I found something called "Aero-Kroil",they use it at my plant. You can get it online. Honest testimonial here. Stuff is the bomb for rusty things. Puts WD to shame.

see that what iam talking about good to know bolt mite snap and car mite fall its allways the little things

Actually, ( and this is Just my opinion ) the "best" way to lower a Dart is to stuff a big block under the hood !
