Can I wire a 5 pin box like 4 pin?
70 Duster 340 with a electronic ingnition from a 75 D100.
The car runs starts and runs fine cold. It will still start after letting it sit and idle for a few minites but if I drive just a couple miles and shut it off its not going to start for an hour or so.
I have changed the spark module, ballast resistor, wires, cap, rotor button, plugs and a new coil.
Still wont start hot so I got to tracing wires and it looks like whoever made the swap to electronic has it wired like a 4 pin module instead of a 5 pin (it is a 5 pin module) The wire for pin 3 is cut on the module and the wire I think should go to pin 3 from the resistor is cut. Could this be the issue? Maybe i'm wrong? Thats why i am asking if it would even start even cold if this is what they have done?
