Dart Radio Upgrade help needed!

Yo Guys,

I really need to do something about the lack of tunes in my ride.

I have a 76 dart with the AM radio and one speaker. Anyone know the best way to get the speaker out of there? I have factory air, so I can't reach under the dash to get it. Just thought I'd ask before I start ripping stuff apart.

Thanks!

In my '71 Swinger the place that did mine were able to reach up from under the dash. The actually put in two little speakers (4" I think) that fit perfectly with only drilling two extra holes. The bezel cover in mine covers the radio and heating controls so the had a little more space. I had put in a new in the box 8-Track with AM/FM with 6x9's in the back. Now I can fade to find just the right sweet spot.

i ended up ordering a couple of 6 x 9's for the back shelf, and getting the cheapest radio best buy sells. I'm trying to figure out the best place to put the radio, without changing the look of the dash. ill keep ya posted.

i left the speaker in the dash - added a new deck, 2 6x9's in the rear tray and 2 6" rounds mounted on standoffs on the side panels under the dash

I ended up putting the radio under the factory air in a plastic case, with two 6 x 9's in the back shelf. It sounds damn good for under $150, but i gotta get some 6's up front....the people in the back can't be a part of the conversation haha.

I'll post a picture tomorrow.
