long lost demon
I know this is a long shot but I am looking for a demon that my dad sold around the 1980's. It was blue and had mildly built 340 with a three speed on the floor. We were living in becker Minnesota at the time it was sold. This is the car that sparked my love for all things with an engine and wheels, to be able to have the chance to buy this car back would be great. If I can find some pictures I will post them.If anyone has any info please let me know, I know this is a long shot but who knows I could get lucky.

Chances of a Mn. car surviving with all the salt is slim. I have been searching for a couple of Shelbys I sold there in the 1970s for years. So far with zero luck. On a brighter note I did locate the Cougar GTE I used to own but it is pretty much a rust bucket now. I wish you luck. If I was you I would look for a nice solid south western car.

thanks for the reply. I haven't found a nice project demon from the south thats under $10,000 or that isn't 90% complete, I'm looking for something that needs a bit of work. My intent is for the car to be a family project, My kids are starting to show intrest in cars and I am slowly getting my wife into cars also (makes the car budget go up if she's on board). thanks again for taking the time to look and reply to my post.

I have seen many good solid projects on craiglist for under $4K for a while now. MN might be different because of the rust issues tho. My supervisor just bought an '84 Chevy K5 Blazer for $600 that his dad swares he could take to MN and get an easy $4K. There is a god, solid '71 Dart 318 car in Oregon that the owner will let go for $1500. I'm going Sunday to look at it.
The real question is how set are you on a Demon 340? 340 cars, R/Ts, 'Cuda's and the like will be hard to come by simply because of the desirability of them, and the lack of numbers. A couple years ago, I found a Demon /6 rolling chassis on CL for $1200, but couldn't come up with the money to buy it ( prolly shouldn't have bought the '68 I did ) If you check out my Sizzler thread, I picked up a VERY SOLID, numbers matching, albeit a 318, EV2 Demon A59 Sizzler for just over $3K after driving to Idaho from Washington to pick it up. If it ever warms up again, I'll be in the garage wrenching away on that.
Good luck with your search, and don't be afraid to pick up a stepping stone on the way to your dream car.
