looks good!! Solex carb, where did you find that? (I know they used Solex carbs on VW's, what did that one originally off of?)

The original Holley 1920 got thrown away sometime in her life between 1966 and 2009 :P ,and before E-Bay came along, it was almost impossible to get parts for US cars here. So they slap in a SOLEX from a POLICE Land Rover Series II onto the slant six...

PS: I will eventually get a decent 1920 from Ebay when I have some extra $$ and time

Cheers

Very nice! It sure will look good once installed.

What is that black can that is mounted next to the carb? Something for the AC? I've had a few slant 6 motors and none of them had that.

it definetly looks great

Its the remote oil filter - the normal oil filter would not clear the steering mechanism on a RHD car, hence they (the factory) had to "re-route" the filter to the Left hand side...

Looking good!

Did you do anything to the motor performance wise or did you keep it all stock?

All stock, except for the "wrong" carb i mentioned earlier. Internals are all stock.

it looks awesome....1st thing i noticed was the oil filter and was thinking, what the hell is that?! it's nice to see a freshly painted engine, especially when you're used to looking at a big ball of grease and dirt buildup under the hood. I like the white suspension too.
i assume this was the original engine? how does it run?

looks great! i like the white suspension a lot.

It runs fine before, just the tranny change up a little too early to my liking, like around 25mph shes already in top gear even at more than half throttle, so something wasnt right. Now both the engine and tranny were taken apart by my engine builder and I ordered overhaul kits for them. Carb was serviced too.

Should run better now i hope :)

It's bin awhile since I've seen a leaning tower of power, it looks real good I especially like the white underneath.

It looks great. I won't have money or time this year to do a Slant Six build but I'm collecting parts and hopefully 2012 will be the year. It's one of my all time favorite engines. Hope to put it in a 64 Valiant station wagon.

Cheers,
Ken
