Newbie Looking For Some Advice

Hi Guy''s and Gal''s

I''m a newbie here. I don''t currently own a Dodge but I''m looking to get some advice for a car my Dad is looking at.

It''s a 1964 V8 Dart GT Convertible.

It appears to be a real clean and complete car but i''ve been around long enough to know there''s always ways to hide problems. He''s not looking for a project, just a nice driver

First off what are the tell tale signs to make sure this the real deal and not a clone?

What are any problem areas to take an extra good look at for hidden rust?
Are parts somewhat easy to obtain?

Any advise would be greatly appriceated.

Thanks
Bill

The best advice I have is that if you do not trust your own judgement ... have it checked out by a mechanic and a body shop.

I trust my own judgement just fine.

I just don't know enough about what and where the typical issues are with this car.
This is the first Mopar I've looked at for possible purchase in many years

Unless there is a guy here who is an expert on a 64 Dart vert and can direct you to possible issues ... you are probably going to have to hire one.

Well I figured this being a Mopar fourm, there might be someone here who is somewhat of an expert;):D

JUST someone who has walked-that-mile .... someone who has owned that car for a year or so and has taken a nap under the car more than once !!

I have a bud with a 66 Dart but the 64 is a diff animal. Good Luck.
