Slant six engine paint?

Hi there

Couple of questions:

1. What is the paint code for the red-orangy 170ci engine paint and where to get/order?

2. Would you recommend an electric fuel pump or stay with the original mech pump? The engine is stock standard 170ci and is currently using "Mitsubishi" electric tick-tick fuel pump (the mech pump is not working).

Thanx for all the help guys.

Cheers

Syed

As for the paint code, I can not help you out there.

For the fuel pump, you should run a mechanical. You can run an electric pump but need to run an adjustable regulator between it and the carb.

Got this reply from Dupli-color:

"Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately we do not have any
distribution
of our products outside of North America. I apologize I could not help
you
with this request.

I believed its the same as in the US of A... cant ship the aerosol by air... I guess the only way is to find a paint-chip of the DE1632 sample and ship THAT chip here...

Well.......

I know this may not help, because your motor goes red, not orange. But I painted my motor CHEVY orange. :D

Alot easier to come by + i find it looks better.

I suggest finding a some what dark red, like CHEVY red?

mechanical pump - the stock unit is good enough to feed a 500cfm 4bbl. they are uber cheap too - like 20 bucks

pumps.....

Speaking of pumps....
My 67 dart (/6, 170) has an electric pump, added by previous owner. Thing is really loud at times, rattling thru the entire frame. I just today discovered a pinhole leak in the fuel line from pump to filter, so I'm gonna replace the whole line cause it's rusty and crusty. While i'm it, i was debating replacing the pump with a quieter one. But since 67's didn't come with mechanical ones, I don't know what type or size to get. Any recommendations on a quiet pump that would work for the slant 6? Or would it make more sense to just go back to a mechanical?
And last question, can i replace the steel line from pump to filter with hose, or should I stick with steel?
Thanks in advance
sd

ooops, that was a typo....meant to say 67's didn't come with electric.....they only came with mechanical.....
so, just looking for a recommendation for a quieter electric or is it smarter to just go back to mechanical.....
