Question strange gas leak

I have a 74 duster with a gas leak, I've checked the fuel line and it is pretty dry, but the gas is hitting the serpentine belt so its spraying everywhere and difficult to see where its coming from, I'm in the auto program at my high school and my teacher told me to check the oil to see if it smelled like gas but it doesn't the engine idles fine, accelerates fine, and when you let off the throttle it has a fast flowing leak that is really hard to pinpoint... I'm totally baffled and any help would be greatly appreciated

No I have replaced the pump already, and the fuel is coming from the fromt of the motor, although the fuel pump had been doing that before I replaced it

maybe the lines to the pump are not fully seated, are they all metel lines or rubber also, if you in auto shop they may have uv die. if so use that to trace the leak,

not the pump or the fuel line, tried getting it to the local car wash to degrease the engine bay and the oil light came on, then she stalled... i pushed it to the nearest gas station thinking it was empty, put $20 in it and checked the oil... the oil was fluid and smelled like gas and oil mixed 70/30 gas/oil... meaning a bad piston ring and a gasket that got eaten from the gasoline where oil was supposed to be...explaining the leak... engine rebuild time

What motor do you have, and what are your plans for the rebuild?
