VIN# ???

We have a 74 Duster that we are planning on making into a "hot rod". I was wanting to know how to find out what was in the car when it was built. Needing someone to point me in the right direction.

Great question. I second that. I also have a 1974 dart and was wondering how i can read the VIN or the motor tag.

Thanks

There should be a tag on the fender that has all the options in code form.

Google Mopar vin decoder. There are ton's of em on the www. But not all info is there. Paint and other options is not in the VIN, but on the fender tag. Unfortunately some people think it's great to remove and collect these tags.

Another great info site is

http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/

Browse around there. Lots and lots of good info.
