wedge or poly

wedge or poly

got a question. how do i tell if my motor is a wedge or poly....... tryin to figure it out for a 340 hood decal i wanna buy but wuld hate to put it on there with the word wedge on it if i dont have one.

The poly engine went out I think in 1963 in 64 the 273 replaced the poly engine.You can call all of the mopar engines wedges from that point on{318 340 383 426 and 440} .except the hemi.

I was thinking it was 64.... but it may be 63.

But I agree with Dartcuda.

Back in 1982, I had a '64 Belvedere that had the original 318 polysherical head 3spd on the column.

So, it was at least 64!
