Weird click sound when u turn the steering wheel

so when I'm driving as I turn left , on the first rotation there's like a knock or click sound. I can feel it in the steering wheel. Mostly happens when I turn left. Any ideas? . And sorry if this is a loaded question but I have a hole that the steering column goes into(causing lots of heat to hit my legs . I was told that this plate that the column goes through, that's on the inside of the car should be on the outside. This sound familiar to anyone? I'll post pics tomorrow.

Is that plate on correctly? Or am I missing something that plugs that hole to the engine

You need a missing gasket/seal and to replace the broken off bolts... there are 3 bolts that secure the plate to the firewall...

Something like this.. >>>>> https://www.ebay.com/i/260436315544?chn=ps&dispItem=1 <<<<<<

And look in the upper L.H. Hole... The mounting bolt is broken off inside the weld nut.
