So he found out it was not smog legal and turns on the check engine light !!!

 

The original owner bought a brand new 2017 SRT. He took it off his SRT and put a different aftermarket one on. So not sure what you are referring to. Im going to go ahead and say that he didnt have a check engine light on his brand new car with stock exhaust.
