Electric issue/ Starter will randomly not engage

I have a 72 Dodge Charger with a 440. It runs just fine normally. The other day when I go to turn the ignition nothing happens besides the fact that the face of the air conditioning pulley clicks. I verified that my battery has juice with a mutimeter. I put a new starter relay in it and it works like a charm. Next day same thing, turn the ignition wont crank. I jump the wires by putting the starter solenoid wire to the possitive part of the starter relay, it works and i drive it home. Next day it cranks again and drive it about 4 miles but I stop at a red light for between 1 and 2 minutes and the engine shuts off. Immediately I put the car in park and turn the ignition and nothing. Please someone with more knowledge on this give me an answer, some help, or suggestions. - I confirmed the battery is fine and serviceable - It has a new carburetor - It has a new fuel tank and fuel filters - It has a new mechanical fuel pump - It has fuel I personally believe the issue is electrical due to the fact that I turn the ignition and nothing will happen but when I jump the wires on the starter relay the starter will engage |
Possible bad ground or neutral safety switch.
